Life is challenging. We often find it difficult to cope and to be creative in finding solutions to our difficulties. Stress from our jobs, relationship problems, parenting, addictions, trauma, anxiety … it can be overwhelming.
Psychologists are trained to support you in building your capacity to deal with these kinds of challenges.
Meet The Team

Dr. Carmelita Jacobs
As an Ed Psych I specialize in psycho-educational assessments and psychotherapeutic interventions for children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioural or learning challenges. I also provide career counselling to adolescents and young adults.
My research interests include family structure, parent involvement, adolescent identity formation and well-being, social justice and inclusion education.
I was awarded the Harry Crossly scholarship in 2013 and the Andrew Mellon Foundation Fellowship in 2015. I hold an Honours, Masters (Cum Laude) and PhD in Educational Psychology from Stellenbosch University.

Gwen Fisher
My areas of interest include psycho-educational assessments and interventions; problems brought about my ADHD and oppositional defiant behaviour and intervention strategies; parental guidance; individual therapy; career assessment and guidance; study method, study habits and exam preparation.
As a therapist, I will journey with you to move into a new territory of preferred way of living, disempowering the effects of the problem. I make use of playful approaches to serious problems with children. Instead of being defined as inherently being a problem, a young person can now have a relationship with the externalised problem.
My aim in therapy is to be respectful and honour the people that I need in my journey as a psychologist.

Athenkosi Mtumtum
I am an HPCSA Registered Counsellor. My work experience in various psychological contexts has exposed me to individuals and groups of different ages and backgrounds, presenting with psychological issues related to trauma, stress and anxiety, emotional disturbances, as well as grief and bereavement. Therapy is not only a journey to self-discovery but that of self-awareness, and with that in mind, I look forward to us creating a cathartic experience that warrants an in-depth conceptualization and understanding of life experiences.

Corene Le Chat
I have worked in the educational context for the past 13 years, across a range of primary and high schools, further education and specialist settings. This has involved working with children and young people between the ages of 3 and 21 years; liaising with the relevant role players to help meet the needs of the students and providing a range of training for teachers and parents.
I offer a variety of child and adolescent mental health services, with skills to assess need; recommend and deliver evaluations and therapeutic approaches aimed at improving the mental health of children and young people. I run a trauma informed, culturally sensitive, neurodiverse practice and am committed to finding ways to make a positive difference in the lives of children, young people and their families.

Jennifer De Goede
I am a registered counsellor who studied through the South African College of Applied Psychology. I have experience counselling across a variety of ages and situations. I offer short-term counselling and a way to build healthy coping skills. I work well with children in creating a playful, creative environment to allow them to open up and grow in tough situations.

Siyanda Shabalala
With a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology (cum laude) from Rhodes University, I bring expertise and empathy to each therapeutic interaction. My experience spans tertiary and primary public mental healthcare in the Eastern Cape and Gauteng province before transitioning to the private sector in the Western Cape. I specialize in providing individual psychotherapy for adolescents and adults. Whether in-person or online, I offer a path toward healing and wholeness, providing support for various challenges including low mood, excessive worry and fear, suicidal thoughts, grief, trauma, low self-esteem, self-destructive habits, concerning relationship patterns, and difficulties around identity.

Anton Johnson
As a registered clinical psychologist. I’ve been providing psychotherapy for two decades, working with over 3000 people to help them recover from past trauma or grief, manage depression and overcome anxiety. I help individuals, couples and families achieve greater fulfillment in their relationships.
Using psychotherapy, we can together discover reasons behind your pain, depression or anxiety. It could be a painful past you’re unconsciously holding on to, or maybe you need direction in your life. Perhaps you’re looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation, or needing to grow and understand yourself better. Whatever it is, we’ll work through it together, so you can start living a healthier and fulfilling life.
I lead the Moya Group. We have regular clinical meetings, group supervision and further training to ensure high quality therapeutic outcomes for our clients.
